The Balm Song

Do you remember the worrisome days of COVID? It was an appropriate time to write a song like this one. It wasn’t just appropriate then, but for all times. God cares for and provides for all of His children. It’s beyond wonderful to know we can rely on Him.

Dictionary.com gives one of its definitions of “balm” as “anything that heals, soothes, or mitigates pain.” What better balm could we desire than the love of God?

I need not fret. I need not worry.
God’s love is the balm that calms my soul.
Why be concerned about tomorrow?
My life is in God’s loving hands.
Why be concerned about tomorrow?
My life is in God’s hands.

I’ll sing of God’s love,
And I’ll sing of His compassion.
I’ll sing of His concern for me.
I’ll sing of God’s care,
And I’ll sing of His provision.
I’ll sing of all He does for me.

I need not fear. I need not be anxious.
God’s love is the balm that calms my soul.
Why be concerned about the future?
My life is in God’s loving hands.
Why be concerned about the future?
My life is in God’s hands.

I’ll sing of God’s love,
And I’ll sing of His compassion.
I’ll sing of His concern for me.
I’ll sing of God’s care,
And I’ll sing of His provision.
I’ll sing of all He does for me.

My twenty-fifth Christian novel is in the edit-and-revise stage right now and probably won’t be ready for publication for at least several months. The front cover is depicted below above the graphic of the other novels’ covers.
